The story of a game has always been important to me. It draws you in to it's world, and gives your characters motivation. According to Gamepro the story in GOW is all over the place and you never really understand what's going on. Resistance has a better story that's more like a mystery thriller sci-fi. That makes it the one for me. You can keep your special effects. Special effects never made a movie great it was the story and they're not the most important thing in a game either. Plus it ha...
Microsoft poured millions into the original XBOX advertising back when it was released. Now they are doing with it XBOX 360. Gee, on the very day PS3 is released. If 360 is doing so well, why the advertising campaign? Why such an expensive campaign? They are running scared of course. It didn't make much difference back then, and it won't now. I can't say I blame them though. The PS3 is going to be tough competition.
XBOX 360 users. Save your sales pitches. The PS3 is here now, read the review by Digit. It's a great one. It's gonna change our world, and smashing it, isn't going to change anything.
I really hope all XBOX users go out buy PS3's and smash em. 1) They will have less money to buy XBOX 360 games, 2) they get to miss the PS3 experience and 3)they will hopefully cure that Sony inferiority complex they are so desperately hiding.
Wow, it's sounds like a great console. How about that! XBoxers can rest assured that Sony has goods to compete with XBOX 360. And win!
Ah yes, so the PS3's battle for supremacy begins. Are Sony actually creating more demand for their console, by not supplying enough? People always want what they can't get.
When you are playing online you are still playing alone. Unless you have someone in the room with you. I had my friend with me, playing split screen. I was not playing alone. With PS3 you can hook up 7 controllers. I think playing with real people in the same room is more socially interactive than playing online. Or have you been playing online to long to realize that.
Do WII have to talk about the WII on the PS3 site as well now do WII.
You are right, I ain't seen nothin yet.
Was this guy really a "die hard fan"? Or was he there just to make a quick buck. Do you think he will still be playing on that PC in 6 years? I really doubt it. PS3 fans will still be playing with their systems, while that PC sits in the bargin bin. And sorry Mart, Xbox 360 had it's chance already.
If PS3 is showing little impact, then XBOX 360 must be showing zero impact. The PS3 hasn't even been out a week yet. Of course it won't be big on the charts. Give people a chance to get it out of the box!
Yeh, and when they do come out, watch XBOX 360 sales slow to a crawl. And notice how they say "likely", that covers their butt when they get it wrong. Just like weather predictions, when they say it's likely to be raining tomorrow.
It's funny how Xbox fans need to latch on to anything at all that says Sony won't do well. Wether it be a researcher or a bogus news site. They predicted the original XBOX was going to be the PS2 KILLER. Ha, Ha, Ha. You don't need to be a researcher or a genius to see that today's (17th NOV) sellout performance for the PS3 is just the tip of the iceberg.
Look, I'm hanging out for a PS3 too but to wait in line for four days? I've waited a year already, I can certainly wait another couple of months. You won't see me rushing over to ebay to pick a PS3 up for $2000.00 or any price that's above retail. I must not be a true fan after all. Those guys who waited in line for four days to make some money, could have made almost as much if they had been working, DOH! Maybe they don't have jobs, which makes you wonder where they got the money to buy one ...
But you can be sure that a PS2 fan, will not buy an XBOX 360. And it's a fact, PS2 fans outnumber XBOX fans 4 to 1. And you can bet after waiting a year for their beloved PS3, their appetite for the system will be ferocius. Even if two-thirds of them decide to hold off on buying a PS3, that will still be more than a match for the 360. The only thing that can hold them back is the speed at which Sony produces the PS3. The original XBOX(R.I.P.) sold well when it was first released and it had no...
But it's more like 26 million XBOX users!
Sorry to tell you this. But I'm one of those people who aren't that interested in online play. Hell, with improved AI what is really the difference between fighting a real person and a NPC? If they are both smart, you are going to get your ass kicked regardless! Killzone 1 had pretty smart adversaries. In offline team deathmatch, my friend and I had a fort well guarded, the helgast just hid and waited us out. The second I stood outside they got me with a rocket.
Actually, this whole thread is about the gameplay looking like the Killzone 2 CGI. They are saying they can now match those visuals. I would think you'd have to be worried. Because it would certainly prove the power of PS3. Of course, all will be revealed when the game is released. I wouldn't be calling them liars so soon. After all the publicity surrounding that CGI, why would they stick their necks out again and say, hey we can do it. Just so they can get shot at again, I don't think so.
I think it's amazing to have this amount of feeback good or bad about a game that hasn't been released yet. Did GOW get this much attention? I think it really exposes how worried XBOX360 fanboys are about the PS3. Likewise, how excited PS3 fans are about Killzone 2. I will go on record as saying I loved Killzone 1. I loved the AI of your NPC team. You really got to know them. If you disagree, then that is your opinion. But I for one can't wait for Killzone 2. And I hope it is the same or bett...
Gamepro said the gameplay was "more fun", with its great range of weapons. Gee, isn't that the whole point of playing a game, to have fun. That giant exploding ball of goo sounds cool. GOW can stick with it's crappy shotgun. The fact is it's a great looking game all round. And beats anything XBOX 360 had for it's launch day.
